Glenn Mallory is one of six local fashion designers chosen to participate in the
first Chicago Fashion Incubator (CFI) a new workspace at Macy's on State
Street. Mayor Richard M. Daley unveiled the Chicago Fashion Incubator, on
Monday, March 10, 2008. The CFI at Macy's will provide the designers with
workshop and nurturing tools to assist them in building successful businesses
in Chicago.
Prior to joining the CFI, Glenn was assistant designer for Barbara Bates
Design in Chicago since earning his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Fashion Design
from the International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT) in 2004.
Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, Glenn persevered through the
challenges of his neighborhood to ultimately become one of Chicago’s fresh
new faces in fashion.
Early in his career, Glenn was featured in two highly acclaimed fashion
shows in Chicago – the Annual Barbara Bates Foundation Fashion Show in May
2004 and the Catwalk Is On Fire fashion show at the House of Blues in June
2004. His line also appeared at the Heard The Inner Voice fashion show at the
Excaliber in February 2005.
Glenn is currently developing his line by "6Ace" at Macy's on State Street – a
leather camouflage collection that is up to the minute, urban fashion.
He describe his designs by "Glenn Mallory Chicago" as being hot to death,
sexy, and detailed. It’s a classic mix of texture and craftsmanship featuring
synthetic and natural leathers, exotic skins, and organic fabrics.
Glenn, his mother, Gloria Wright, and cousin, Robin Taylor-Turner formed
Glenn Mallory Clothing LLC, in December 2007. Glenn is currently designing
under labels; 6Ace (CixAce) and Glenn Mallory Chicago.
